Police Course

This year sees the inaugural Police course start in Tauranga. This has been developed by CATE (Careers Teachers Association) in association with the NZ Police.

The course has successfully run in other parts of NZ over the past couple of years and now Tauranga students have the opportunity to participate. Applications were strong over the city and Otumoetai has four places.

The course is one day a week and NZQA accredited at L3.The course is academic, informative and physical giving students a real insight to modern policing in NZ. Students are loving the course and all it provides.

Community Project - Predator Free BOP

Predator Free BOP, is a community backyard trapping project aiming to bring back native birds by getting a rat trap into every 5th backyard in the Western Bay of Plenty Area. We distribute free traps and tunnels to households and only ask that these traps are checked and we are informed if people catch something!

We will have a trap distribution event in Otumoetai at Carlton Reserve Carpark this Saturday 7th March from 1pm-2pm where families can find out more about the programme and pick up a trap.
