 Waikato Itinerant Music Festival

It has been all go in the Music Department. We attended the Waikato Itinerant Music Festival where our groups performed extremely well. Our symphonic band gained a Gold Award, our Jazz Band and Guitar Group gained Silver Awards, and our String Ensemble gained Bronze!
Three of our songwriters have also enjoyed success at a National Level in the Play it Strange Song Writing Competition. Lottie Mollison, Katrina Porter, and Tessa Olsson have won $800 worth of recording time at a recording studio of their choice. Their songs will be recorded and released later in the year!

Science ICAS Competition

Otumoetai College students did exceptionally well in the annual international ICAS competition. Otumoetai students gained top results and averaging higher than Australian and New Zealand schools. Among our 47 students participating, 11 were awarded Distinction awards (top 10%), 21 Credit (top 20%) and 5 Merits (top 40%). Congratulations to those hard working students.

Year 12 Outdoor Ed. Abseiling

Year 12 OED classes went to Te Puna Quarry and thoroughly enjoyed the practical experience of Abseiling.
