Robotics Results

Last Saturday our Robotics team attended the final competition before Nationals and performed very well.

After winning the elimination rounds, two of our teams allied and won the finals to become tournament champions. Fingers crossed this bodes well for Nationals this weekend!

National Young Enterprise Scheme Update

Mason Kritz, Caitlin Spalding,  Ale Calderon Valdazo and Zykyia Peka, regional winners of the Young Enterprise scheme were privileged to represent our region at the National Young Enterprise Awards 2023 in Wellington on 4 December 2023, with their business Unifirm.

Thirty teams from all over Aotearoa pitched their business ideas to a panel of five judges. The competition was stiff, and every team pulled out all the stops to impress the judges.

Unifirm uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to tag school sports uniforms, allowing them to be tracked from issue to return, improving efficiency, and simplifying the enormous task of managing school sports uniforms. Even though they did not place under the top 3 schools, they attracted lots of interest from the private sector and they are planning to expand their business in 2024.

We are proud of Unifirm!
