Waikato Bay of Plenty Athletics Championships

We had 8 students attend the WaiBOPSS Athletics at Tauranga Domain on Tuesday 26th March. Congratulations to Kate Faitl (1st in 3000m and 1st in 1500m), Sophie Garrett (1st in 800m), Casey Miller (3rd in 200m), Maia Basile (3rd in 1500m), Anna Mansurova (3rd in long jump) – all these students have qualified for the NISS Track & Field Championships in Palmerston North.

New Zealand Squash team – Erin Wyllie

Congratulations and good luck to Erin Wyllie who is heading away for 10days to represent New Zealand in squash (A grade) at the Oceania Trans Tasman tournament,  the Australian Open, and Trans Tasman… 3 Big tournaments in Melbourne.

Give Rowing A Go

Free rowing tryout sessions for school students in Year 8 and up.

Rowing is a great sport for building fitness and resilience within a supportive community. It’s also a whole lot of fun. If you are serious about competing for your college in 2025, or you’re just curious to see what it feels like to paddle backwards up a river, now is a great time to get involved.
All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. Just come along and have a go.
WHEN: Sunday the 14th, 21st & 28th April 1.30pm – 3.30pm
WHERE: 369 Wairoa Road (near Bethlehem)
BRING: Exercise clothes and bring a sun hat, water bottle, socks and running shoes.
Parents are welcome to stay, watch and ask questions.

Ōtūmoetai College 2024 Winter Sports Coaches & Managers – Expressions of interest

We are currently building our Winter Sports programmes, and are seeking expressions of interest for coaches and managers for the 2024 Basketball, Football, Hockey and Netball season.

Our volunteers are highly valued, and we welcome new members to the volunteer coaches and managers team.

If you are passionate about sport, enjoy sharing your skills and knowledge with student athletes and want to make a difference and enable students to participate in sport, we would love to hear from you.

Ōtūmoetai College will support you every step of the way with a dedicated sports department and staff contact. A code of conduct for all involved, regular communication and opportunities to feedback.

Gaining a USA Sports Scholarship is becoming a popular pathway for our students here at Ōtūmoetai College, however, the process can be daunting.
