School Cross Country

Tuesday was a great day for some cross country. Students were awesome!

Rugby History

From our Teacher in Charge of Rugby – Arden Carter

On Monday we managed to get TWO 10 a-side wahine teams playing.

History #1: Our Senior girls traveled to Te Whare Kura o Mauao (TWOM) as the first EVER senior team to do so. The result didn’t reflect how our girls grew in confidence as the game went on making tackle, after tackle, after tackle. Some highlighted players were TJ Kaur, Lucia Kimi, and the Captain Emily Bibi with a huge effort.
History #2: The Player of the match for the senior girls that tackled her heart out, played the whole game, ran with the ball so much she managed to get a 50m runaway to score the FIRST try for our team. JANNEKE BREMNER.
History #3: Our junior girls were at home vs the TWOM having only 10 players for a 10 a-side game the girls knew that heart was gonna get them to the end of the game. With a set of sister playing together ( Nafoi-Semalo Sisters) The result did reflect this by winning the FIRST game of our junior wahine rugby history. Dellas Mareroa, Jizelle Masoe and Suzie Heke were standout players for the team. With their player of the match Francella Nafoi-Seumalo having a standout performance.
Thank you to all the staff that managed to watch some of the games and a HUGE mihi to all the staff that helped get this up and running, exciting term ahead.
Ōtūmoetai College – 2024 Students vs Teachers Volleyball Game

There is a reason why our Senior Girls are the Bay of Plenty Champions and came 4th at Nationals, and then you throw in two Y13 boys and let’s just say the teachers put up a good challenge but the students were too strong!

Well done students!

Thank you Stu Henderson and Delamare Langton for being our referees!
