WBOP Junior Badminton Qualifiers
The WBOP Junior Badminton Qualifiers were held on Friday, 24th of May at QE2.
Ōtūmoetai College had seven teams competing for a place in the Bay of Plenty Junior Badminton Finals in August. The competition was comprised of teams of four, each playing another team in a tie. Each tie consists of four singles matches and two doubles matches. It was a large competition with approximately 22 teams from schools in the Western Bay of Plenty.
All students played really well, with some very close and at times, heartbreaking scorelines. Despite facing tough competition, our young athletes displayed excellent sportsmanship and fought hard.
We find out who made it through in the next few weeks.
