Junior Play Photos

Two weeks ago our students performed in two different plays over four nights. Over 80 students were involved in the two projects from years 9-13.

Ms Pengelly directed the Junior play “The Cinderella Chronicles” and Mrs Rowe directed the Seniors in “Me, My Selfie & I.”

Senior Play Photos – please click here.
Junior Play Photos are featured below.

The process began in February when all performers took part in auditions and students have been participating in lunchtime, after school and weekend rehearsals ever since. In addition numerous students have been involved behind the scenes, creating props; lighting designs; working on wardrobe; manning F.O.H. and even stage managing the events. We had four virtually full audiences, who were very positive about their experiences.

What a great experience for all concerned.  Ka pai to all of our awesome students!

Year 10 Market Day

The weather put it on for the first Market day of the year with the year 10’s!

It was a successful day for all Year 10 Commerce students on the 7th June. They were able to showcase all their hard work and planning in the creation of their businesses. They demonstrated grit, teamwork and perseverance to bring their ideas to life.

Ōtūmoetai College Choir

Yesterday Mrs Hitchock and Mr Bodman took our school choir to perform in the regional secondary schools choral festival, the Big Sing, which was held at the Holy Trinity Church in Tauranga.

A large number of these students were new to the choir this year and they have worked hard to learn the repertoire and develop their choral technique. They performed extremely well and represented our school beautifully.

Choir Members: Iro Angell, Kiriama Angell, Sciennaj Belcher, Dani Brewerton, Mezhy Mei Cabalhin, Arthena Caibiran, Keisha Canete, Lucy Dibble, Indie-Rose Dwyer-Vianello, Oscar Downard, Alice Gardiner, Tiana Guy, Rhys Hopcroft, Izzy Iacano, Hugo Joyce, Ollie Joyce, Abby King, Alafair Korohina, Hettie MacLean, Chloe Murphy, Olivia Pelham, Hayden Pennell, Leni Russell, Liliana Smith, Takara Smith, Shya Stapleton, Rachel Stevens, Aadit Tandon, Talia Tipper, Scarlett Waterhouse, Elliot Watts and Charlotte Willacy.

Hip Hip Junior 3rd

Most exciting was Klarion Janes (pictured right) winning the best choreography award – this was competing against other dance studio teachers.

New Art Mural

Our latest mural has now been installed on the outside wall of the art block for all to enjoy.

Thank you to Mr Thomas for framing & varnishing, and our Property Team for their help.

The Visual Arts Committee organised and put it all together ready to go up. This features amazing art from two year 10 classes.
