Cape to Cape Epic Adventure Complete!

Year 13 school leavers Will Dunn from Ōtūmoetai College and Olly Dow and Thomas Winter from TBC have completed their 800km human powered Child Cancer fundraiser!

Their Cape to Cape adventure, which began on November 20th and concluded on December 7th and combined a multi-discipline expedition of hiking, cycling, and paddling in a from East Cape to Cape Egmont and in the end totalled an incredible 850km! Their mission was not only a test of physical and mental endurance, but also a heartfelt effort to raise $50,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation.  So far they have raised just under $22,000 with donations still pouring in to support young New Zealanders and their families affected by cancer.

Unforgettable moments of their journey included completing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing where they were joined by 25 friends and family members and conquering Mount Taranaki on the second to last day.

The boys braved varied terrains, from coastal stretches to alpine landscapes, and switched seamlessly between hiking, cycling, and paddling to conquer the distance. Their website,  www.capetocape.nz documents their journey and showcases their dedication to this incredible cause.

Donations can be made through their Givealittle page, inching them closer to their $50,000 goal.

Olly, Thomas, and Will’s Cape to Cape journey exemplifies determination, teamwork, and compassion.
