Maadi Cup 2025 – ŌTC’s Pride

Twenty-six souls, on Karapiro’s breast, a week of Maadi, putting hearts to the test.

Fog’s soft veil lifted, by sun’s golden hand, on waters churning, a determined band.

Boats like arrows, through the morning’s haze, crews united, in a rhythmic maze.

Coxswain’s sharp call, a guiding, steady sound, sculls slicing cleanly, where victories are found.

A bronze gleam shines, a moment hard won, a testament to battles, bravely begun.

Highs and lows echoed, on the water’s wide span, each rower giving all they possibly can.

Watermelon’s sweetness, a cool, gentle break, pineapple’s sharp tang, for energy’s sake.

Support from the banks, a chorus so strong, pushing them forward, where they truly belong.

From misty beginnings, to twilight’s soft gleam, they chased their ambitions, a rowing dream.

Through aching muscles, and spirits that soared, sticking to the journey, ’til the final reward.

Karapiro’s tide, a memory held dear, Maadi’s fierce spirit, banishing all fear.

Twenty-six stories emerged from river and sea, Tino pai rawa atu, ŌTC!
