Empower Her – Dr Julia Casadio
Sport Bay of Plenty invites parents and athletes to an evening focused on supporting young women through their adolescent years in sport.
Delivered by Dr Julia Casadio, High Performance Sport Physiologist and applied researcher, the evening will unpack the physical and nutritional considerations for athletes navigating puberty and explore how changes in adolescence can influence a young female’s experience in sport.
With an emphasis on education and empowerment, Dr Casadio will share practical insights to help parents and athletes better understand the female body during this critical stage. The evening will reinforce the importance of putting health before performance, with the goal of keeping more girls active, confident, and engaged in sport for longer.

Ōtūmoetai College Athletes: Unleash Your Potential with Strength & Conditioning (S&C)!
Here at Ōtūmoetai College, we’re dedicated to helping you become the best athlete you can be. While honing skills and training hard are essential, a strong foundation is crucial for success. That’s where S&C comes in!
S&C isn’t just about lifting weights. It’s a tailored program designed to build your strength, power, endurance, and agility – all the physical tools you need to dominate your sport. It can help you:
* Reduce injury risk: By strengthening your muscles and improving your movement mechanics, S&C helps you avoid setbacks.
* Boost performance: Increased strength and power translates to an increase in performance regardless of the sports or position; Stronger, Faster, more Powerful.
* Enhance recovery: S&C improves your body’s ability to bounce back from intense training sessions, keeping you at peak performance.
Ready to take your game to the next level? Make sure you attend our S&C program here at Ōtūmoetai College!
