North Island Secondary Schools Junior Beach Volleyball Champs

GOLD for ŌTC!
A massive shoutout to Cameron Reinsfield & Te Awa Korohina-Maude, who dominated the sand to claim GOLD at the 2025 North Island Secondary Schools Junior Beach Volleyball Champs at Mairangi Bay!

What makes this even more unreal? These two legends had just smashed out FOUR intense days of indoor volleyball at the NISS Junior Volleyball Champs — then rolled straight into beach mode and still came out on top.

Proud of you both!

North Island Secondary School Junior Volleyball Championships

What a week on the big stage! Over four action-packed days, our FOUR ŌTC teams poured heart, hustle, and pride into every point, leaving absolutely everything on the court. The energy, grit, and growth on display made this tournament one to remember.

Junior A Girls showed real fight all week. While they narrowly missed a semi-final spot, they finished in a brilliant 5th place—the next best ranking in a fiercely competitive field. A huge achievement and a sign of exciting things ahead.

Y10A Boys delivered one of the tournament thrillers, battling through a tense quarter-final that went the distance. After splitting the first two sets, they pushed the third to the wire, falling 13–15 in a nail-biter. They finished a strong 7th overall, with plenty to be proud of.

For our Junior B Girls and Year 9A Boys, this tournament was all about growth—and wow, did they grow. Both teams made massive gains across the four days, lifting their skills, confidence, and combination play. The lessons learned (and the resilience built) will be invaluable as they continue to develop toward 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to our coaches, managers, and whānau who travelled to Auckland to support our student-athletes. Your encouragement from the sidelines helped fuel the effort on court. We’re proud of every player who wore ŌTC colours—bring on the next chapter!

North Island Junior Cup Water Polo Tournament

Our hardworking Year 9 & 10 Otumoetai College team travelled to Auckland for the North Island Junior Cup water polo tournament, taking on some incredibly tough opposition.

They showed real determination, teamwork, and grit throughout the weekend, earning a well-deserved 4th place finish. Big thanks to Coach Taylor and Manager Nic. Super proud of the wider team effort and the way they represented OC!

Congrats to Kieran Hutchison for being recognised as one of the Top 5 Mixed Division players.

BOPSS Senior Beach Volleyball

On Saturday, 15th November at Mt Maunganui Beach, our six senior teams absolutely did the school proud — laying out for digs, chasing down shanks, and throwing up some monster blocks while battling every kind of weather. Wind, rain, sideways sand… you name it, we played through it! 🌧️💨🌴

So much grit, hustle, and clutch play on display. Huge props to every athlete for keeping the rallies alive and the energy high. You represented us like champs!

Aussie Rugby Sevens teams

Massive thank you to the Junior Boys & Girls Aussie Joey’s Rugby Sevens teams for joining us on Monday 24th November! 🙌🇦🇺🇳🇿
A great hit-out for all teams as we build toward Condors Sevens this week. The energy, skill, and spirit on display made for an awesome day of footy. 🏉🔥
