A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported our Tauranga Foodbank fundraiser!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we have smashed our previous two years!
2026: 1,083 items
2025: 804 items
2024: 959 items
This includes $226.80 donated through EFTPOS, which provided the equivalent of 118 items. Every donation makes a difference, and the Tauranga Food Bank is better off because of our amazing Ōtūmoetai College community.

When to keep your child home to get well, and for how long
Going to school every day is important for all our rangatahi/ adolescents to build confidence social skills and to achieve their education and life ambitions.
However, in the winter terms, we see an increase in seasonal coughs, colds, and flu-like symptoms across the school. To help keep our classrooms healthy and minimise the spread of bugs, please keep your rangatahi home if they are unwell.
The following guidelines HERE can help you decide if your rangatahi should stay home:

Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket Donate to Dine – 22 October
On Thursday 22nd October Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket (OSS) is taking over Sugo Restaurant for a special evening to raise support. Come and enjoy a night out with great food, music and company, all for a fantastic cause.
If you can’t make this you can still support the event by donating a silent auction item!
Where your support goes: Funds raised will go directly towards keeping shelves stocked and ensuring the Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket can continue to provide this vital service for our community.
Tickets: $150 per person.
Half of every ticket goes directly to OSS. Whether you book a seat or a whole table, your night out will help create something meaningful for local families.
On the night your ticket will get you:
- A three-course meal crafted by Sugo’s award-winning chef
- Champagne on arrival
- Live entertainment throughout the evening
- Ability to bid on some great silent auction items.
- A chance to connect with friends, neighbours, and our wider Tauranga community

Your Education – Scholarships and Application Deadlines
Is your student wanting an international experience this year?
Your Education High School Exchanges still have spaces available for all their two and three-month exchanges starting in December and January. The application deadline is 1st September.
Discounts & Scholarships Available
They have several offers to help make an exchange a little bit more affordable:
- $1,000 OFF: Valid for short-term Canada exchanges (departing Dec ’26) OR Canada for any duration departing in Feb ’27.
- $500 OFF: Valid for any short-term exchange departing in Dec ’26 or any destination departing in Jan ‘27.
They also have scholarships up to the value of $2,000. Interested students should check out the criteria on their website here.
