Generous Donation from Mitre 10
A huge thank you to Mitre 10 for their generous donation of two new fruit trees to our kura!
These exciting new additions have found their home in our orchard, planting roots alongside 15 other fruit varieties in the Science and Horticulture area. This space serves as a fantastic hands-on learning environment for our students.
Our vision for this area is to cultivate a thriving, sustainable garden that will eventually offer an abundance of fresh, free fruit for our students to enjoy throughout the school year.
Community support like this makes a world of difference in helping our school programs flourish. Thank you again, Mitre 10, for helping us grow a healthier, sweeter future for our school!

“With a meningococcal case recently confirmed at Rosmini College in Auckland, it is a good time to check meningococcal immunisations for school and university students in close living situations.
A reminder that Bexsero and MenQuadfi are funded for people aged between 13 years and 25 years (inclusive) who are either:
- entering within the next three months, or in their first year of living in boarding school hostels, tertiary education halls of residence, military barracks, youth justice residences or prison; or
- individuals who turn 13 years of age while living in boarding school hostels

Good Neighbour – The Good Walk – 30 Laps in 30 Days
At Ōtūmoetai College, we want our sport to be about more than what happens on the field or court. Good Neighbour is the charity our sports programme is proud to support, doing great work for people across Tauranga.
This October, join The Good Walk – 30 Laps in 30 Days. Complete one lap each day, wherever and however you choose, while raising funds for Good Neighbour. The challenge finishes with a community walk at Coronation Park on 31 October – and every dollar raised will be matched by Good Neighbour’s funders.
We would love to see our students, families, staff and supporters get involved. 30 days. 30laps. One great local cause.
Young Driver Workshop
This free workshop is designed to help young drivers build confidence behind the wheel, improve their road safety knowledge, and develop safer driving habits.
Who can attend? Young people aged 16-24 years who hold a current learner or restricted driver licence.
Workshop includes:
• Driver behaviour education covering speed, impairment, restraints, distraction, and fatigue
• A free 60-minute one-on-one driving lesson with a certified driving instructor
• Waka Kotahi NZTA vehicle safety and roadworthiness checks
• Tips for sharing the road safely with heavy vehicles and vulnerable road users
• Information about vehicle star safety ratings and choosing safer vehicles

Family Fun-Free Treasure Hunt this Saturday All Over Tauranga
This Saturday, between 9am and 2pm, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa will become a giant treasure-hunting ground!
With around 40 local businesses involved and approximately 100 prizes up for grabs, there are thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes to be won.

Buyers welcome at 8.00am. Get something new for daylight saving time! Runs till 11:00am.
