Sailing

Sailing is a Summer sport run in collaboration with the Tauranga Yacht & Power Yacht Club (TYPBC) in Terms one and four. For keen sailors there are weekly trainings at  Sulphur Point under the guidance of coaches who are Yachting New Zealand qualified. The club has produced many of NZ’s world, Olympic and Americas Cup sailing champions, famous names such as Peter Burling, Thomas Saunders and Sam and Molly Meech all spent their junior years growing up and sailing in Tauranga.

All students can be involved as no sailing experience is necessary, just the ability to swim 50m in a life jacket and have a bit of water confidence, but most importantly the desire to learn, meet new people and have some fun.
