BOPSS Rock Climbing Champs

Western Bay of Plenty Badminton Qualifier

On Wednesday, 26th of June, we had 54 students in 13 teams representing the College at the Western Bay of Plenty Badminton Qualifier.  Each team had to play two – 3 ties, incorporating 4 singles and two doubles matches.

The competition was particularly fierce this year, with all teams aiming for qualification for the Bay of Plenty Championships.  Badminton is a growing sport in New Zealand, and it was great to see over 40 teams from the local schools with over 160 participants.

Ōtūmoetai did very well; we must wait to see how many of our teams qualified.  All students represented the school amazingly well and played excellent badminton.

U19s – IBUILT Junior Tour

Last weekend Alex Rawlinson rocked the U19s at the IBUILT Junior Tour, seizing the Yellow, QOM, and Sprint jerseys with aggressive riding. She loved racing on Auckland’s country roads. We are excited for her season ahead!
