Finalist in the “Old is the New Black” Exhibition
Stevie Allison’s (Year 13 student) photography work was selected as one of the finalists in the exhibition ‘Old is the New Black’ which is on display along the Strand up to 20th October.
Stevie took out professional photographers to be chosen as a finalist, only 20 images were chosen out of 108. Her model is Chris Townsend (father of two Ōtūmoetai College staff members) who kindly came in and modelled for her photography class.
The exhibition opened with presentations taking place in Miss Gee’s Bar & Eatery.

Mental Health Awareness Week – Colouring Competition Results
We held a form class colouring competition during Mental Health Awareness Week at the end of last term.
We asked each form class to get creative and colour in some bright designs as a mindfulness activity. It was a great way to unwind and connect with classmates.
We had some amazing entries, and it was tough to pick the winners! After much deliberation, we’re excited to announce the top 7 form classes:
- 10STT, 10LSW, 10LRR, 9NCK, 10MRR, 12SNC, 12LSS
These classes will receive extra Whare Points for their fantastic artwork.
We also want to give a special shout-out to these form classes for their amazing entries:
- 13TNG, 9ARC, 12SHC, 13CRN, 12SZK, 10SAB
Thanks to everyone who participated! You can see the awesome entries below!
