Bay of Plenty Junior Ultimate Frisbee
On Monday 2nd December we had two teams compete at the BOPSS Junior Ultimate Frisbee Champs at Waipuna Park. Another hot day in Tauranga and with there being no wind, the weather conditions were perfect for Ultimate. Both teams played with lots of energy and there were heaps of quality passes and catches.
Ultimate relies upon a Spirit of the Game that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. As Ultimate is a self-refereed sport, maintaining Spirit of the Game is essential. At the end of the game each teams chooses a Spirit player from the other team, at the end of the tournament the top two Spirit players are celebrated from each team. Congratulations to Maia Basile and Charli McDonald for being the Spirit players for the Girls team, and Cooper Chapman-Taylor and Pounamu Temoana for being the Spirit players for the Boys team.
2024 BOP Senior Secondary School Beach Volleyball Championships
On Sunday 1st December we had three boys teams and one girls team compete at the 2024 BOP Senior Secondary School Beach Volleyball Championships.
Despite the weather not being the usual Mount Maunganui blue sky conditions, the players still had a great time playing quality games against the best senior secondary school beach players in the Bay.
