Sport BOP – Voice of Coach Report 2023 – Outlining Data collected from Coaches about their coaching, their journey to becoming a coach and their development in coaching

Sport BOP – DEVELOPMENT COACH ADVANCE

A 9-month learning journey for coaches of tamariki (primary school aged children), rangatahi (intermediate and college aged youth) and local club adults

Sport Bay of Plenty’s Development Coach Advance (DCA) programme helps coaches develop skills in critical learning areas and supports them to become more effective in their coaching practices. These newfound skills benefit both athletes and coaches. Development Coach Advance is not an awards based programme where one passes or fails, but rather a programme that aims to develop and inspire coaches to become continuous learners for life.

Balanced Female Health

Sport NZ recognises that female-specific needs in community sport are unique.  As coaches, parents, instructors and administrators, understanding female health is critical to being able to respond and provide support for young people to be active in ways that boost their wellbeing.

Balanced Female Health is a new resource for adults supporting young people in community sport. Developed by health professionals working in the sport sector, this resource covers changes throughout female puberty, the menstrual cycle, and factors that impact the physical health and mental wellbeing of all young people.
