Young Enterprise Regional Awards

“Last night we were lucky enough to be able to attend the Young Enterprise Regional Final Awards night (with limited numbers). It was a great evening where the regional awards were given out and the top 5 teams pitched to be placed as Regional Winners. There were 32 teams that started the Young Enterprise journey at the start of the year from Tauranga Boys College, Tauranga Girls College, Te Puke, Aquinas and Papamoa.

RESULTS:

2021 Regional Runner Up
Toi Matauranga (Ōtūmoetai College) – The Maori Legend Colouring Book


Jasmine Evans, Imogen Lowe,  Pagie Sutton, Haylee Van Herpen-Jacobs.

 

2021 Regional Winners
KiwiKick (Ōtūmoetai College) – Kiwifruit Gels


Daniel Dumee, Rose Mayhead, Maia Trevelyan, Amelia Wright, Renee Mitchell, Jasmin Murray.

 

WBOP Entrepreneur of the Year
Rachel Dunn (Ōtūmoetai College)

 

Innovation Award
Runner Up – Backrow – Aquanis

Winner – Chappy (Ōtūmoetai) – produced a lanolin lip balm
Rachel Dunn, Pacey Landon, Josia Vickers, Phoebe Webster, Faith Morrison.

 

Community Benefit Award
Runner Up – Undercover (Aquanis)

Winner – B’Well (Tauranga Girls College)

 

Teamwork Award
Runner Up – UrEco (Ōtūmoetai)

Neisha Moore, Milo Clark, Serene Bigwood, Sapphire Dudley, McKayla Vickers, Jemma Wakerly, Emma Woodhouse

Winner – Autowash (Te Puke)

 

Financial Management Award
Runner Up – Kiwikick (Ōtūmoetai)

Winner – Zealous Candles (Tauranga Boys College)

Best Product Presentation
Runner Up – KiwiKick (Ōtūmoetai College)

Winner – Mairu (Aquanis)

Kiwikick won $1000 for the National Award and would be going to Wellington to accept that and also pitch for the Nationals title, however this year it will be all online.

Shave for a Cure – Friday 29 October

We have 10 students shaving their hair next Friday:  Asha Reid (9JMM), Connor Kemp (12SLP), Noah Brenchley (10KRL), Christian Hays (10MNS), Rachel Wahab (11SHB), Carter Waters (9MKT), Madeleine Steed (11HLW), Ashton Blair (12SHH), Chase Winder (13AMB), Levi Zawitkoski (12STT)

So far these outstanding students have raised $2860.
