Sponsors Thank You Day & Charity Giveback

On Saturday 13 August, Barbarians Rugby hosted thirty sponsors and supporters.  They support our rugby programme and fundraiser. PAV3 is the perfect venue, overlooking the rugby field. We provided them with a few nibbles and lemonades, as a thank you and to encourage additional support, going forward.

Our rugby programme aspires to have all our players develop an understanding of giving back and being community minded.

Good Neighbour have many key values, one being: Volunteers creating a serving culture.  As such, we have teamed up with Good Neighbour and our players, both male and female, have assisted Good Neighbour in serving the community through firewood and food deliveries.

Due to the success of our annual Fundraiser earlier in the year, we were able to DONATE $2.600.00 to our GOOD NEIGHBOUR CHARITY.  We thank Jason Rowling again for this wonderful and enriching partnership.  We presented the ‘cheque’ at our SPONSOR’S DAY, to Good Neighbour.

Biz Venture Japan 2022

An experience to remember!

From 29th July to 1st August I had the privilege of being one of 28 students chosen from across Aotearoa to participate in Biz Venture Japan, a program run by the North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence in conjunction with the Young Enterprise Scheme.

This all expenses paid extreme adventure was exactly that; an adventure! Based out of Wellington, this program consisted of a couple of sleepless nights, plenty of New World runs, and collaborating with 20 Japanese students to come up with a solution to solve a problem for Cookie Time. Our task was to work in groups to think up a new distribution method for an existing product or create a new product to help increase market share.

Apart from the great meals and the awesome YES chaperones, my favourite part of this once in a lifetime experience was getting to meet and collaborate with other like minded students from across the country, creating long lasting friendships and memories.

BizVenture Japan was an incredible experience that I would definitely recommend to any students thinking of taking Business Management in years from year 11-13. – Seth Turner, Year 12 Business Management.
