Letter from our Principal 12-2-2023

Dear Parents / Family / Whānau,

Due to the forthcoming weather event I wanted to inform you that Ōtūmoetai College will remain open. This decision has been made after consultation with Civil Defence.

We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable learning environment for our students, however, we understand that there may be parents or guardians who feel that it is in the best interest for your child to work from home due to the weather. If you decide to keep your child(ren) at home, could you please contact our attendance office (07) 576 2316.

Rural buses will not be operating on Monday as a safety precaution due to possible high winds. A decision will be made on Monday afternoon about the Tuesday service. All other buses are still operating at this stage, however runs will be closely monitored as the situation develops. There is a possibility that services will be altered at short notice. Please view the Bay Bus website, social media, and Transit App for further updates.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Russell Gordon
