Equestrian Achievement
Ōtūmoetai College’s talented equestrian rider, Lucy Penellum (Year 12), recently achieved an incredible feat at the St Peters competition in Cambridge. Despite tough competition, she secured second place in both of her 1.05m Show Jumping classes, bringing glory to herself and her school.
Central North Island Mountain Biking Champs
Congratulations to Abby Miller (Year 11) on winning the bronze medal in Enduro at the North Island Secondary School Mountain Biking Champs! That’s an impressive achievement, especially considering that it was her first race after ACL surgery. It’s great to see her determination and resilience in overcoming challenges during the race, such as the chain coming off, to still make it to the podium.
The Sports Office wishes Abby all the best for her future races. Keep up the great work!
Continued Canoe Slalom Success!
Paige Martley (Year 11) has continued her Canoe Slalom success after competing at the New Zealand Nationals at Tekapo. Paige achieved a 3rd place finish in the K1 women’s team event. This comes on top of her recent form at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Champs where she won Bronze in the C1 teams event. Well done Paige!
