OTC Got Talent
On Tuesday evening, we held our annual OTC Got Talent competition, and what a fantastic evening it was!
This year featured the biggest and most diverse range of acts we have ever seen, with performances ranging from juggling to Shakespeare and everything in between. Our talented performers entertained the audience with an incredible variety of creativity, skill and passion.
Our judging panel consisted of Mr Tisch, Ms McAdam and Mr Smith, who had the difficult task of choosing the winners from such an outstanding group of performers.
The evening was organised and run by the Creative Arts Committee, led by Sammy Irwin and Jack Brown. A huge thank you to them for all their hard work in putting together such a successful event.
The audience was fabulous, the acts were amazing, and the atmosphere throughout the evening was fantastic.

Congratulations to all of our winners, and a huge well done to everyone who took part. The standard of talent on display was exceptional, and it was fantastic to see so many students getting involved and sharing their creativity with the OTC community.
We are already looking forward to next year’s OTC Got Talent!
Ōtūmoetai College Filmmakers Success
It has been an action-packed few weeks for Ōtūmoetai College film students, marked by national awards and local premieres.
- 48-Hour Film Competition: Three student teams completed short films over the July 1st–2nd weekend, competing against 600+ entries nationwide. Year 13 team ‘The Bourgeoisie’ earned 2nd place in the Audience Favourite vote at Tuesday’s Tauranga heats. Official judges’ decisions are pending.
- National Poster Design Win: Year 13 student Izzy Peers (‘The Bourgeoisie’) was named a national winner in the 48-Hour poster design contest. Her winning artwork will be displayed at the National Finals in Wellington, and she received a Letterboxd Premium membership.
- Big-Screen Cinema Premiere: On Friday, August 21st, Year 12 Media Studies students screened their completed films for family and friends at the Historic Village’s Village Cinema, enjoying popcorn, ice cream, and the true big-screen experience.
Following alumni like Alex Liu, Micah Winiata, and Emily Ardern, this is certainly not the last time we will see these talented students named in movie credits.

On Thursday 22nd October Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket (OSS) is taking over Sugo Restaurant for a special evening to raise support. Come and enjoy a night out with great food, music and company, all for a fantastic cause.
If you can’t make this you can still support the event by donating a silent auction item!
Where your support goes: Funds raised will go directly towards keeping shelves stocked and ensuring the Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket can continue to provide this vital service for our community.
Tickets: $150 per person.
Half of every ticket goes directly to OSS. Whether you book a seat or a whole table, your night out will help create something meaningful for local families.
On the night your ticket will get you:

- Champagne on arrival
- Live entertainment throughout the evening
