Academic Excellence Breakfast

It was a beautiful morning on Thursday 16th June when we celebrated academic excellence at the Tauranga Yacht Club. It seems appropriate timing given that Matariki is just around the corner. For Matariki we: (1) remember the year that’s been and those who have passed, (2) celebrate the now and what we have, and (3) look forward to the year to come.

With the magnificent Mount Maunganui as a backdrop, we acknowledged the Year 12 and 13 students who had their NCEA endorsed with excellence. The students were joined by a significant adult in their lives. Unfortunately, due to winter illnesses, there were a number who couldn’t be there but we still acknowledge them.

Ōtūmoetai College is proud of the high academic achievement of these students and acknowledges the hard work and consistent effort that is required to achieve excellence, particularly during a global pandemic. We also recognise the encouragement and support from home which has enabled these students to achieve their academic best – now and into the future.
