Netball Division 2 Winners

Congratulations to Ōtūmoetai College 9B Netball team.

They have played and developed so well this season. The win was truly deserved.

Basketball Tournament Results

Our Junior boys Basketball team played Cambridge High School in the Junior Premiership Zone 2 A Grade Final.

Unfortunately they were not able to come away with the win but they played very well against a physically talented Cambridge High team (multiple players over 6 foot 5) losing 78 – 62.

Awesome work by the players, coaches and management!

UNISS Netball Tournament

Day One – Premier 1, Auckland
As Year 10’s it is a great opportunity to be playing at UNISS (Upper North Island Secondary Schools) Netball Tournament with an incredible team who are very talented and skilful. Today we had our first game at 1am against Sacred Heart and even though we lost we played really well as a team. The next game was against Tuakau, which we lost again but improved lots throughout the game.

Overall, even though we lost both games we still had a really good time and it was a great experience for the first day at UNISS. – Alena & Georgie (Y10)

Day Two
Today we experienced both a loss and a win. Our first game was against Mt Roskill and after a rough start in the first quarter the team drew on reserve strength to showcase their true skillset and pushed to the very end and never gave up. We ended our pool play losing 22-15 but we felt we had achieved a vast improvement on the previous two games from yesterday and a healthy appreciation of our competition.

The second game today was against Hillcrest from Hamilton and we continued to show improvement with our connections and skill as a team. With the support crew on the sidelines hyping us up throughout the entire game we pushed through and managed to win our first game of the tournament. We showed great determination and perseverance and we are all proud of what we have achieved today. – By Abby Finlayson and Bodette Petero
