Sport Guest Speakers – Upcoming Events
Exciting news! Ōtumoetai College Sport is thrilled to announce upcoming guest speakers who bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Dr. Craig Harrison, a distinguished coach and researcher with a Ph.D., is dedicated to helping young athletes enjoy their sports without the risk of injuries, overtraining, or burnout. His thought-provoking presentations cater to sports parents, coaches, and administrators, reflecting his extensive knowledge and practical experience.
Additionally, Dr. Katie Schofield, a Ph.D. holder specialising in Low Energy Availability (LEA) and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), takes a multi-dimensional approach to health, nutrition, and athletic performance. As a registered nutritionist and former elite track cyclist, Dr. Schofield provides personalised coaching to enhance overall health, nutrition, and physical performance.
Furthermore, Jake Bailey, who faced cancer in 2015 and developed a keen interest in mental fortitude, has embarked on a journey to understand overcoming adversity. He explores natural resilience, teaches fortitude, and focuses on creating individuals who not only recover but grow from setbacks. Jake, as a presenter, shares insights from positive psychology studies, expert interviews, and personal experiences.
Stay tuned for more details on these inspiring speakers next week!
