Anti Drug Campaign Filming
Last week, Abby Ozanne and Sophia Cerdeira, both Year 11, were chosen to have small acting roles in an anti-drug campaign video. They had their makeup done by a professional makeup artist and worked with a film crew from Auckland. Both of the students did an amazing job and enjoyed being on the film set for the afternoon.

Special Olympics Football Ribbon Event
The Special Needs Department students participated in the Special Olympics Football Ribbon Event on Tuesday 22nd May 2018. The students were great ambassadors for Otumoetai College demonstrating OTC learning behaviour like playing to win but demonstrating good sportspersonship at all times. Thanks to Mrs McGrath's (led by Irene Lewis) Y10 ALPE class who organised the tournament in partnership with Colleen Black from NZ Special Olympics. Thanks to the Sports Executive, mainstreamed students and staff who also came out to tautoko our students.
Here are our results from the competition:
OTC Tama came second in the most competitive pool not losing any games but drawing 2 games and winning 2 games
OTC Ope & OTC Ora came third and second in the Unified competition where mainstream Year 13 students Tiana Hill, Brayden Johnson, Joel Edlin and Max Delaney played to increase participation in games
OTC Oti came fifth in the Individual Football Skills section of the competition.
Thanks to Staff from the Special Needs Department and Special Needs students' parents for taking time out of your busy day to awhi our students.
Our next Special Olympics event is Table Tennis on Thursday 14th June. We hope you can hold on for the next exciting up date of the Special Needs students.
