Thank you to those teachers and students who attended our Speech Finals on Thursday 9th November at lunchtime. It was great to see Mr Randell and Mr Brown in attendance with a number of others.  Also a huge thanks to Andrea Ward and Josh Buxton for adjudicating the speeches.
The level of speeches were extremely high  - in fact, possibly the highest calibre speeches I have heard for a while. They were all very interesting and challenging.

First Place: Greta Foreman - 9CTH

Second Place: Lucy Button  - 9BNQ

Third Equal: Jack West - 9PTH with Rose Mayhead - 9CTH

Amazing speeches by every candidate on Friday 10th November! I was rather pleased it was not me having to make the call on the final placings.
Thanks to those staff and students who came along. It is always appreciated by the students.
A huge thanks to Suzanne and Ashleigh for adjudicating what were speeches of the highest order. You did a great job! After some serious deliberations by the adjudicators the final outcome was as follows:

2018 Netball Coaches Required

We will be needing coaches for a number of teams next year, including our Prem, 1, 2 and Junior 2 teams.  If you have experience in either coaching or playing at a premier level, or know of someone who does, and would be interested in coaching our Prem 1,2 or Junior 2 teams please contact myself - Tracy Rush This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Chris Matheson This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Paul Braddock This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. At this level it is preferable that the coaches be neutral and would dearly love to engage someone who would be interested in committing for a number of seasons.  We have been extremely lucky to have Lara Richardson coaching our Prem 1 netball team for a number of years.  Next year she has decided to stand aside to enable her to spend more time with her family.
Please also be aware that the pinnacle of our Prem 1 season is UNISS (Upper North Island Secondary Schools Tournament), which runs for five days at the beginning of September.  Next year this tournament will be held in Tauranga, at Harbourside Netball Centre, but is often in Auckland. It is expected that the coach of the Prem 1 team would travel with the team to this tournament.
There is a clear coaching pathway with Netball New Zealand and if you wish to go down this avenue we will support our coaches in any Netball New Zealand Coach Development they wish to undertake.
It is becoming increasingly harder to get parents of players to coach at college level, so if anyone else is interested in coaching other teams this would also be very much appreciated.
